They were all familiar with the hell of battle, no strangers to the pain, the stench, the groans and gasps of the dead and dying.
But this?
This was a battlefield that wouldn’t even have featured in their worst nightmares, filled with fears and memories of their most devastating battles. A new terrible scene had just seared into place to haunt them.
Brothers, dead, by their own hands. The reality of it, the horror, taking hold as they realized that they’d been betrayed, and been made to betray their friends.
