There was good cheer and even boisterous singing as they began setting up the base, hauling what equipment they’d managed to save and testing what was already here in their new refuge. The Empire had dealt them a blow, but the Rebellion had countless strongholds to frustrate the their efforts. Better that Imperial warships waste their time searching remote planets only to find long-empty bases, either abandoned or never used, than out terrorizing the citizens of the galaxy.
They might be found here eventually, too, but for the moment they had reached safety, and that was reason enough to celebrate.
