In a run-down cantina, a man sat alone at a table. That table was the only well-lit spot in sight; all else in the room faded into the darkness.

A hooded figure stepped out of the shadows, and the man at the table looked up.

“The deed is done, then?” he asked.

The other dipped his head. Visible relief stretched across the man’s face as he relaxed against his seat.

The hooded figure wordlessly held out his hand.

“Yes, of course, your credits,” the man said, shuffling around for a moment before finding what he owed the other, and offered them in his own outstretched hand.

The other approached, but with a swift, graceful motion, caught the man’s wrist instead, yanking him out of the seat as the credits scattered carelessly across the floor. A brief struggle ensued, and as the unknown figure claimed victory, his hood fell back, revealing the face of the very man the first had hired the assassin to kill!

The audience gasped, delighted to see the dramatic return of the play’s hero after his earlier, quite convincing “death”.

“Padawan Windu is quite the talented actor,” someone murmured. “He’ll make good use of those skills someday.”
