Luke asked to apply to the Imperial Academy.

Owen had known it was only a matter of time. Attending the Academy was all Luke and his friends would talk about, these days.

And it wasn’t as much of a secret as it should have been that none of them were planning on sticking around to graduate.

As much as Luke clearly craved going out among the stars, Owen couldn’t risk him getting mixed up with rebellions, or worse, having his latent talents noticed by the Empire.

But Owen couldn’t say that.

“One more season, and we’ll see,” he said instead.

I like this. Of course, we first think that Owen is being harsh until we realise he's just protecting Luke.

I kind of wish George Lucas had left in the cut scene where Luke reunites with Biggs at the rebel base on Yavin IV. So much context!

Yeah, he has good reason for preventing Luke from going there, even if Luke is understandably frustrated by it.

Lot of good content in those deleted scenes, that's for sure.
