Title: In Your Favor
Prompt: Fall
Author: lumiosecity
Rating: G
Characters: Han Solo
Pairing: N/A
Star Wars Media Property: A New Hope
Word count: 200
Warnings/Spoilers: No spoilers for anything ongoing.
Summary: It's too late to run this time.
When the chips are down, Han tends to run from his problems. Always has, always will.
Despite all his talk, he’s not cut out for the big leagues, and he’s sure as hell not cut out for something like this— being someone that people rely on, playing a part in an elaborate game of chess with galaxy-spanning consequences, facing down the kind of demons that would have lesser men quaking in their boots.
(He won’t admit it out loud, but he’s quaking in his boots.)
Spewing all that hot air was a really bad idea, wasn’t it? Truthful or not, being the best of the best came with consequences. Way too many consequences.
He always runs when things are down to the wire. It’s all he knows how to do, at the end of the day.
But the chips didn’t fall in his favor this time— or maybe they did, and he just hasn’t realized it yet.
Han’s dug himself one hell of a hole, and all he knows for sure now is that it’s far too late to run from this particular problem. He’s got to dig his heels in and face it.
At least he’s in good company.
