Anakin didn’t think he would ever stop being awed at large bodies of water. It seemed every time he thought he could get used to it, there was an even bigger one to be found. The Temple’s pools had seemed like impossible luxury, but standing by an ocean that seemed to go on forever was on an entirely different level.

As valuable as it is to take the time to appreciate the natural world around us,” Master Obi-Wan said, “you do still need to practice swimming, Anakin.”

Right. He’d done plenty of swimming lessons by now, back in the Temple, and he’d picked up the hang of it, but now Obi-Wan wanted him to try in a less controlled environment.

I know it may seem intimidating…”

I’m not scared,” Anakin interrupted.

I didn’t say you were. But some caution is warranted nonetheless. Remember that the key here is balance,” Obi-Wan said, switching tracks. “You know how to float in a steady pool, but here, the waves and currents will push and pull. Be mindful of their motion; let them guide you, but don’t let them sweep you under.”

Anakin nodded, determination in his step as he approached the lapping waves.
