Cal’s knighting was nothing like how he would’ve pictured it as a child. No braid to cut, no Master Tapal, no Jedi Council, not even the almost forgotten comfort of traditional robes, and a red lightsaber above his head, still screaming with the memories of pain that had overwhelmed him only moments ago.
But that lightsaber had been reclaimed, now, away from the cruelty that had been inflicted on its crystal, and it could heal, as he and Cere would - had begun to heal. Their family may no longer have been with them, but a new Jedi Knight lived on.
