There was a kyber crystal sitting in the street vendor’s stall.
Affixed to a a dull, flat chunk of metal with a cheap adhesive that looked like it would crumble apart in a matter of weeks, it was marked as an “Ancient Rodian amulet to ward off disease”.
“We don’t have the credits to waste on trinkets,” her master said.
“But…” even after months, she still had to hold back from addressing her teacher properly, “Auntie, that’s…”
She was pulled firmly away from the stall.
“The Empire has eyes everywhere,” her master said quietly. “It’s better we leave it be.”
