There was considerable more security circling the building than Obi-Wan had anticipated.
“Master,” he said in a low voice, just barely loud enough for the comm to pick it up. “They know we’re coming.” He lifted the comm to his ear and waited for Qui-Gon’s response.
His master was less concerned. “Unsurprising. We suspected that they had friends in the planetary government, and a request for Jedi assistance wouldn’t have gone unnoticed.”
Obi-Wan lowered the comm. “Should we reconsider the plan?”
“No, padawan. Look past your anxieties, and let the Force guide you. I trust you will find a solution.”
Well. His master was right, and Obi-Wan was letting his anxious feelings cloud his vision. He needed to release himself from their grip and let them pass, as if he were merely a small stone in their path. Something easier said than done, of course, but this was what he had been training for most of his life to do.
So he breathed in, and relaxed, and focused. Anxiety was temporary; its hold over him even more so.
He breathed out.
Obi-Wan opened his eyes, calmer. There would be an opening. A physical one, or, perhaps, someone he could mind-trick.
