A group of Coruscanti teenagers stood outside and gazed up at the Jedi Temple.
The teenagers, however, were not particularly interested in the beauty or craftsmanship of the architecture, nor were they listening much to the Temple Guard serving as their tour guide. They were, after all, here on a mission.
It wasn’t, fortunately, a particularly devious mission. In fact, it was a fairly harmless one, and not particularly clever, though they failed to realize this.
See, these teenagers, ears full of rumors, had come into the knowledge of – to their minds – the greatest work of the Jedi. It was said, that in addition to diplomacy and all manner of things that these teenagers did not care about, Jedi studied and had achieved the peak of success in the production of alcoholic beverages.
In order to obtain this legendary substance, that was said to far exceed the beer and liquor they could find anywhere else, the teenagers had devised their plan. Entry into the Temple itself was easy; the Jedi had plenty of areas open to the public, and offered regular tours. Locating the alcohol was a different matter, but they reasoned that it would likely be close to the food.
So as the tour approached the kitchens, one of the group became a hero to the others, taking on the sacrificial role of distracting their guide as the others slipped into the kitchens.
Unfortunately for them, they had just taken a peek into a handful of cabinets before a very unamused Temple Guard caught them and escorted them out – not just of the kitchens, but the Temple entirely.
It might be said that they had failed to account for the Jedi’s Force-guided intuition, but with intentions as unsubtle and predictable as theirs, the Force was not truly needed here.
