Growing up on Tatooine, a hot desert world, Luke had never seen much water. There were salt flats that were apparently the remains of seas, but that sounded silly.
Water had to be carefully extracted from the air, it didn't just lie around doing nothing.
Then his life is turned upside down and Luke with the rebels end up at Hoth, a snowy world. So much frozen water! Is it the remains of an ocean?
Luke wants to know more, but he's nervous about asking. He's starting to realise how ignorant he really is of things. Questions can be dangerous.
