The tired relief and muted joy is not just Mace’s; the rest of the council is equally welcoming of the news.

Officially, the galaxy is once again at peace, and the Jedi have been dismissed from their military positions. Today, they can finally lay down – not their weapons, because their sabers have always been more than that, and there is still more work to be done – but the ill-fitting titles that have been pressed onto them over the past three long years.

Today, Mace Windu is glad to say that General Windu is no more, and never will be again.
