The Temple burns, and people look away.

Not everyone. In the dark pre-dawn hours, one man races to offer his aid. Many others who might have done so are led away in handcuffs, their names signed to a petition now deemed an act of treason.

But there are no arrests at the Temple.

One cannot make sense of senseless cruelty, but people cannot wrap their heads around senselessness. It leaves a void that people will fill with their own justifications. Some will place the blame with the Empire where it belongs. But for others...

It is easier to look away.
