Title: Bitter Ends
Prompt: Moff
Author: lumiosecity
Rating: Teen
Characters: Wilhuff Tarkin
Pairing: N/A
Star Wars Media Property: A New Hope
Word count: 100
Warnings/Spoilers: Major character death, in line with canon. No spoilers for anything ongoing.
Summary: Bitter tyrants tend towards bitter ends.
Author Notes: I definitely fudged the speed at which the Death Star was destroyed here, for dramatic effect.
Perhaps there is something poetic to be found in how Wilhuff Tarkin died, in seeing a man who sought to rule by fear perishing as fear begins to close in around him.
Systems failing, a fervent panic rising through the air and inciting hell, control slipping from the grasp of one who sought to hold it so tightly– and then, nothing. Nothing but heat and light and oblivion.
Or perhaps there isn’t any poetry to be found at all. Death is rarely ever poetic; it just is.
All there is to know for certain: bitter tyrants tend towards bitter ends.
