A group of jawas called out, an excited chorus of voices eager to report their success.

“A good find!” one said, indicating their prize, a still short-circuited astromech. “Not much sand in its mechanics; it must have recently come from off-world.”

It wasn’t likely to fetch much more than any other astromech when all droids would wear down soon enough under Tatooine’s suns. But they were saved much of the cleaning and repairs they had to attempt on the usual junk.

All they needed to do was put a restraining bolt on it, and it was as good as new.
